This was another basic that I needed in my wardrobe. Tee shirt dresses are great in my book. Easy to make and more importantly easy to pack. I always like some of these for a summer trip. This dress is made with another of my own Tees developed from an RTW favourite. I’m calling this one “Cuffy” as it has some simple cuffs that form little sleeves.
You can see a fun video of me making the original cuff t-shirt dress on my YouTube account here.

I think this lovely floral Jersey came from Fabricland but I’m not 100% sure even though it’s a relatively recent purchase. The fabric is an excellent fit for this dress as it’s lightweight with good stretch and opaque enough so that nothing shows through.
Just like my favourite t-shirts that I make, this came together in no time it probably took no more than an hour and a half to make this from cutting out to whizzing it up with the overlocker. Plus, I’m now seeing the benefit of having TNT patterns because it means that you can make them almost on autopilot if you are so familiar with the processes that you can do it in no time.
So, there’s nothing revolutionary about this dress it’s just a straight body I was a little bit of curving at the waist the sleeves are simply two 25cm strips sewn into a tube and added onto the body of the dress. I bound the neck using the coverstitch and simply overlocked and then turned and stitched up the hem and there it is. This went straight into the suitcase for my Greek holiday a couple of months ago.
There you go – basic, quick, easy but oh so necessary.
Thanks for dropping by,

Cuffy looks great! I love the floral and it looks like it would make a great little black dress too!
