Hello, it’s me, I am still here and I’ve been sewing. I’m popping in with a quickie to share a bit of news.
My long-time love and I finally made it legal after nearly 32 years together. A couple of weeks ago we completed a civil partnership. We had both always shied away from marriage as an institution, but we’ve gravitated towards an official celebration of our commitment to each other and of our (brilliant) life together.
We had been thinking about it for a few years but the decision to the act was quite quick, about 4 weeks and we had a very low-key event.
Of course, I made my outfit which was in fact a rerun of my Soft Suit Combo of two summers ago. This time I made it in a cerise cotton linen blend. I remembered to make the adjustments to the waistcoat that I identified earlier and the fit was much better. You know that I was still sewing on the morning of the ceremony, but thanks to a glorious June day (the weather gods smiled on us), I was able to ditch the problematic jacket and go sleeveless!

More than one friend praised us for making sure we had thought it through and were not rushing into anything. 🤣 So short and sweet, the good news is we are now legally Mr and Ms!
Even better news is I’m sewing again and feeling good about it.
Thanks for dropping by,

Oh my gosh, congratulations! And what a great outfit to get hitched in: a joyful colour and a lovely shape.
